Roux Physical Therapy is a proud gold sponsor of Donaldsonville's 1st Run for a Cause 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, September 28th.
Racers have the unique opportunity to run (or walk) through historic Donaldsonville (home of Roux Physical Therapy) followed by a celebration at Crescent Park with food, drinks and live music.
Proceeds from this event support the Donaldsonville Area Arc, a non-profit organization providing vital support and services to adults with intellectual disabilities.
Roux Physical Therapy and local neighbor Noel Family Distillery recently joined forced to support the Baton Rouge Orthopedic Clinic's BROC Rock and Wine Event which raises money to help fund the BROC Foundation's Athletic Training Outreach Program.
BROC's Athletic Training Program is vital to providing essential training, education and medical services to youth athletes across the state.
Roux Physical Therapy celebrated its first anniversary in June. Patients and staff were treated throughout the week to fun activities.

Roux PT was invited as the official physical therapy healthcare team to assist at this year's Stephen Sullivan Family Football Camp.
NFL Player Stephen Sullivan is a native of Donaldsonville and hosts the event annually to support his hometown community.
The Roux PT team was honored to be a part of this great event and looks forward to volunteering for future camps.
Roux Physical Therapy recently welcomed its newest team member, Nicole Hood. Nicole brings management, administrative and healthcare experience and is a great addition to the team serving patients in Donaldsonville and surrounding communities.
Nicole has an Associate's Degree in Healthcare Administration and Medical Records and has worked the last several years as an office manager in a medical clinic. She serves Roux Physical Therapy as a Front Desk Coordinator leading front office processes, assisting patients with scheduling and intake and offering support to clinicians to help ensure a great patient experience.
"We are thrilled to welcome Nicole to the Roux Crew," said Ryan Roussel, PT, DPT, Roux Physical Therapy Owner. "She is local, experienced and has already been a great support."
Roux Physical Therapy hosted a Ribbon Cutting and Open House on July 26th. City, State and Parish Dignitaries as well as community members came out to support the opening of the clinic and tour the facility.
"We are overwhelmed by how supportive and welcoming everyone in the community has been," said Kassie Roussel, Roux Physical Therapy Owner.
"We've been working on the building for the past several months. People passing by pop in to look around and tell us how excited they are that we choose Donaldsonville as our location. A lot of these folks came by for the grand opening. It was truly touching to see so many people come out," said Roussel.
"We are also from a small, close-knit community, so we love the family-like atmosphere in Donaldsonville."
Roux Physical Therapy is officially open on Railroad Avenue in Donaldsonville's Historic District.
Roux Physical Therapy had a great time volunteering at the Stephen Sullivan Football Camp at Floyd Boutte Stadium in Donaldsonville. Sullivan, now a pro-football player for the Carolina Panthers, plans the camp to give back to the Donaldsonville community he grew up in. Nearly 100 kids showed up to participate in stretches and drills.
"Stephen is a great athlete and role model. We enjoyed meeting him, his team and all of the kids that came out," said Ryan Roussel, DPT, Roux Physical Therapy Owner.
"We look forward to helping out at next year's event."

Roux Physical Therapy, located in the historic district of Donaldsonville, LA on Railroad Avenue, is now open in Donaldsonville.
The former Shaheen Department Store that first served residents over a century ago is now Roux Physical Therapy. The 4,800 square foot facilty has been transformed into a modern, industrial-style clinic which offers a spacious lobby, open-concept gym, recovery area and two private treatment rooms.
Roux Physical Therapy utilizes a multifaceted approach to treat patients of all ages with various orthopedic injuries, musculoskeletal issues, pain, movement problems, balance deficients and muscle weaknesses, in addition to offering cash-pay dry-needling and recovery services.
Roux Physical Therapy is owned and operated by Kassie and Ryan Roussel, PT, DPT, CMTPT, CPS. Ryan graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from LSUHSC in New Orleans. He has over a decade of experience treating patients in various settings. He is certified to perform the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Asytm Soft Tissue Therapy and is a Certified Manual Trigger Point Therapist (dryneedling). Additionally, Ryan is a Certified Champion Performance Specialist and utilizes this system to assess movement and build performance-based programs for both patients and athletes.
Ryan’s educational background, history in athletics and experience with both inpatients and outpatients, have helped him cultivate a specialized approach to both physical therapy and wellness.
Ryan and Kassie reside in St. James Parish with their three children. They are excited to serve a rural community similar to their hometown.
“Clinically, I pride myself on constantly learning and evolving my craft so that I can offer my patients the highest quality care. Personally, it is my goal to create an environment for patients that makes them feel valued and happy to come to therapy,” said Ryan Roussel, Roux Physical Therapy Owner and PT.
“I am from a big, Cajun family so my patients can expect good music, great conversation and lots of laughs while I work to help them meet their goals.”
